Having an author visit your school is a great way to get kids excited about reading and writing. Author visits also serve to reiterate the topics the students are learning in class, while offering supplemental discussion points, activities and workshops to complement the standard curriculum.

Tyranika Abrams's favorite part of being an author is speaking to and reading with children. She is particularly good at encouraging young readers to use their imaginations to write great stories. Her lively, high energy presentations are incredibly entertaining and are always full of encouragement, affirmations and helping the young readers embrace what makes them special.

Tyranika is a wife, a mother to two beautiful daughters and a children’s book author. She has always been interested in creative writing, leadership and entrepreneurship. As a mother, diversity in children's picture books became even more important as she saw first-hand the impact of representation makes on young minds.
Her very first picture book, "Where You Belong" was inspired by and written for her oldest daughter to inspire her to embrace what makes her different and walk in her purpose. You can read more about the situation that inspired that story here. The Inspiring Legacies Collection of books was created to highlight diverse legacies and the roles these individuals played in society in a way that resonates with young readers, as little legacies.
